The entrance fee is 30 RON for adults. Students and seniors pay 20 RON. You pay this directly at the ticket kiosk at the base of the stairs.
Most guided tours do not include the 30 RON entry fee. You will typically pay the guide in cash, or pay directly at the kiosk upon arrival.
Currently, entry tickets are only sold at the physical kiosk at the trailhead. You can book guided day tours online in advance.

A must join day tour from Bucharest to see the beautiful Transfagarasan mountain. We even saw three wide bears on the road. The operator continued with the tour with only three guests and the driver picked us up at the hotel on time.
The guide is nice and very knowledgeable. The van is spacious and fit 7 people comfortably. Too bad the Monastery of Curtea de Arges is under restoration, so we cannot visit the inside. Otherwise, this would be a perfect trip.
Great experience with the girls! Full day and with the private tour it meant we could spend time at each place at our leisure. Easy to book and I received a message with all the details on which took away any stress from the day! Tavi couldn’t do enough for us and made the day great.
